IntroductionIMG2746

Purchasing a share of a racehorse may be the most exciting investment someone could ever make. As a share owner you enjoy the same benefits as a sole owner. A few of these benefits being, VIP access at the tracks, access to the backstretch, and with a little luck a few trips to the winner’s circle. By sharing the risk and relying on experienced management, owning a thoroughbred becomes an excellent investment, a lot of fun, and an affordable way to be an owner in the Sport of Kings.

The goal at Ridgewood is to race at the highest level by purchasing young high quality horses and teaming them up with world-class trainers. Our partners can count on racing at the premier tracks across the country with promising horses. Most of our horses have been purchased for between $50,000 and $90,000. We feel this is an ideal price range to offer our partners a nice profit margin and still be capable of getting a top quality athlete.

Ridgewood can’t guarantee all our horse’s will be successful. This is not an investment with an expected amount of return. However, we can guarantee that watching your horse bolt out of the starting gate and cheering it through the finish line will be far more exciting than investing in any mutual fund could ever be. It is also not uncommon for affordable horses to become very profitable. Such as the horse Bushfire, who was picked by Ridgewood’s primary trainer, Eddie Kenneally. She was purchased for $37,000 in 2004. She won over $800,000 on the track and was then sold as a broodmare for $1.8-million in 2007.
